Baseball Game Preview: Shore Regional Blue Devils vs. Colts Neck Cougars

The Shore Regional Blue Devils will take on the Colts Neck Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Shore Regional is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Ocean Township just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 6-3 to the Spartans.

Meanwhile, while it was Colts Neck who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was Toms River East who put up more. The Cougars lost 15-5 to the Raiders. Like the Blue Devils, the Cougars also had to let a streak go: they had won three straight, but that streak is no more.

Colts Neck saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was RJ Conover, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Shore Regional's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Colts Neck, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Shore Regional was able to grind out a solid win over Colts Neck when the teams last played back in May of 2022, winning 8-3. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
