Soccer Game Preview: Wilson vs. Hartsville

Wilson is 1-9 against Hartsville since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wilson Tigers will take on the Hartsville Red Foxes at 7:00 p.m. Hartsville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Wilson, who comes in off a win.

Wilson had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the five-goal drubbing they dealt Lakewood on Tuesday. Wilson was the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over Lakewood. The score was close at the half, but the Tigers pulled away in the second half with five goals.

Their offense was hitting Lakewood from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Sam Floyd led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Hartsville came up short against Conway on Thursday, falling 5-1. The Red Foxes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hartsville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wilson, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Wilson suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Hartsville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Wilson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
