Baseball Game Preview: Central Florida Christian Academy Eagles vs. Evans Trojans

The Central Florida Christian Academy Eagles will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Evans Trojans at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Evans took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Central Florida Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.

Central Florida Christian Academy is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Peniel Baptist Academy. Central Florida Christian Academy blew past Peniel Baptist Academy 18-2 on Thursday.

Casey Nipper made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit, only an earned run while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Nipper was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andy Headley, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Bryson Andrews was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Central Florida Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peniel Baptist Academy only posted an OBP of .368.

Meanwhile, Evans unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 17-6 to Colonial on Monday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.
