Basketball Game Preview: Oak Park Christian vs. Hattiesburg HomeSchool Forerunners

After both having extra time off, Oak Park Christian and the Hattiesburg HomeSchool Forerunners will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Oak Park Christian can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home two weeks ago. They took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Escambia Academy. Oak Park Christian's defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Hattiesburg HomeSchool came up short against Full Life Christian Academy last Saturday and fell 38-30. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Forerunners came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Falcons are ranked 548th).

Everything came up roses for Oak Park Christian against Hattiesburg HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 54-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oak Park Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
