Football Recap: Encina Comes Up Short

Encina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 31-0 loss at the hands of the Mesa Verde Mavericks. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Mavericks from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Joslyn Hoffman had an outrageously good game for Mesa Verde as she rushed for 59 yards and a pair of TDs, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Jaimez, who threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes.

Encina's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Encina will venture away from home to face off against West Campus at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mesa Verde, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Laguna Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
