Basketball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln was the 36-30 winner over New Albany when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Lincoln Lions took a 49-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Albany Eagles. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lions came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Eagles are ranked 321st).

Lincoln's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for New Albany, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will be home for the holidays to greet Westerville Central at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Albany, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Big Walnut at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
