Recap: Rising Sun Tigers vs. Havre de Grace Warriors
The Rising Sun Tigers put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 54-36 victory over Havre de Grace. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Rising Sun has scored all year.
Rising Sun's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allison Stoudt, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Jordan Lynch was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 17 rebounds and seven steals.
Havre de Grace's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Azareya Whiting, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Savannah Lawrence who scored nine points. The contest was Whiting's third in a row with at least ten points.
Havre de Grace struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Rising Sun racked up 13 assists.
Rising Sun's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Havre de Grace, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Rising Sun will be home for the holidays to greet Aberdeen at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Aberdeen will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Rising Sun is ranked 20th). As for Havre de Grace, they will head out on the road to face off against Patterson Mill at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Patterson Mill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
