Volleyball Game Preview: Riverton Silverwolves vs. Corner Canyon Chargers

The Riverton Silverwolves are taking a road trip to challenge the Corner Canyon Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Riverton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Herriman, who was ranked third at the time (Riverton was ranked 11th). The Silverwolves took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs on Thursday. The Silverwolves' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Riverton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22.

Riverton's defeat came about despite a quality game from Brenner Cottle, who had ten digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, Corner Canyon lost 3-0 to Mountain Ridge on Thursday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19, 25-16.

Corner Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Riverton, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
