Basketball Recap: Bay Takes a Loss

Bay came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 67-37 loss at the hands of the Huntsville Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 172nd in Florida, while the Panthers are ranked 13th in Alabama).

Despite the loss, Bay still got an impressive performance from Amare Burgess, who posted ten points and three steals. Burgess is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jahmius Franklin, who earned six points.

Bay moved to 6-3 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Huntsville, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Bay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-41 victory against Selma on the 20th. As for Huntsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 77-43 win against Scottsboro on the 20th.
