La Vernia came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Leander Lions by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Avery Keck paced La Vernia's offense, picking up ten kills. Keck got some help from Madelynn Nagelmueller and her ten assists.

La Vernia's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Leander, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record.

La Vernia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against McNeil on the 15th. As for Leander, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Eagle Pass on the 15th.
