Softball Recap: Houston Comes Up Short

After flying high against Calhoun City last Saturday, Houston came back down to earth. The Houston Hilltoppers fell 15-12 to the Bruce Trojans on Monday. The Hilltoppers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Kendall Burt led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Cydnee Webb, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Even though they lost, Houston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Houston's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

While they had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
