Softball Game Preview: Dixon Bulldogs vs. Croatan Cougars

The Dixon Bulldogs will face off against the Croatan Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Dixon turned things around against White Oak on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 10-3 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Kailei Dawsey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Tina Feliciano was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kaylie Moore, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Croatan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over Swansboro on Tuesday.

Croatan now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Dixon, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
