Basketball Game Preview: Hilliard Darby Panthers vs. Central Crossing Comets

The Hilliard Darby Panthers and the Central Crossing Comets will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Central Crossing took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hilliard Darby, who comes in off a win.

Hilliard Darby is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since February 2, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past Olentangy 50-47. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Braves are ranked 147th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Central Crossing played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against New Albany, falling 49-28.

Hilliard Darby is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Central Crossing, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.
