St. Georges Tech is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Saturday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Caesar Rodney Riders at 11:00 a.m. Caesar Rodney took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Georges Tech, who comes in off a win.
St. Georges Tech is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Hodgson Vo-Tech, who was ranked 15th at the time (St. Georges Tech was ranked tenth). The Hawks really took it to the Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 38-0 victory. That 38 point margin sets a new team best for the Hawks this season.

Joel Buck and Jayden Goffigan were among the main playmakers for St. Georges Tech as the former rushed for 51 yards and three scores and the latter rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. Those 72 rushing yards gave Goffigan a new career-high.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. Georges Tech was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. Georges Tech's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Mekhi Smith, Derek Foxmoor, and Micah Johnson, who each picked up one sack apiece. Smith was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.
Meanwhile, Caesar Rodney started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Caravel Academy. They fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 21-19 on Friday. The loss was the Riders' first of the season.
St. Georges Tech will need to focus on slowing down Maxwell Viddy, one of several Caesar Rodney players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 115 yards and three TDs while completing 73.7% of his passes. Jaxon Timmons helped Viddy out on the ground, rushing for 116 yards.
St. Georges Tech now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Caesar Rodney, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
St. Georges Tech strolled past Caesar Rodney when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 20-6. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Riders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
