Warren Township came into Saturday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Niles North Vikings 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Blue Devils also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Warren Township had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 29-27.

Those eight digs gave Penesis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Smekens, who had six digs and three aces.
