Volleyball Recap: South Ripley Falls Short Against Ranked Jac-Cen-Del

South Ripley faced Jac-Cen-Del in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Raiders fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. The loss put an end to the Raiders' undefeated start to the season.

South Ripley actually scored more points across those five sets (103-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 12-25, 15-11.

Jac-Cen-Del found their leader in sophomore Josie Allen, who had 13 digs. Those 13 digs set a new season-high mark for Allen.

Having lost for the first time this season, South Ripley fell to 5-1. As for Jac-Cen-Del, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Coming up, South Ripley will be playing at home against Hauser at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jac-Cen-Del, they will take on Southwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
