Basketball Recap: Percy Flowers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Screven County over Bryan County

If Screven County was riding high fresh off their 69-42 takedown of Emanuel County Institute last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Screven County Gamecocks fell to the Bryan County Redskins 64-59. The Gamecocks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redskins earlier this season, when they won 48-45.

Screven County lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Percy Flowers, who went 8 for 15 en route to 21 points. The dominant performance gave Flowers a new career-high in points. LeVez Roper was another key player, putting up 17 points and five boards.

Screven County now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Bryan County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Screven County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Savannah at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Screven County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season. As for Bryan County, they will face off against Emanuel County Institute at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
