Baseball Recap: Dugger Union Has No Trouble Against North Vermillion

Dugger Union lost to North Vermillion back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 12-4 victory. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Hudson Head was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Dugger Union's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-6-1 when he doesn't). Seth Fritzinger was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.

Dugger Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Dugger Union pushed their record up to 3-6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for North Vermillion, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.
