Baseball Recap: Hoggard Drops Highest Score of Season Against West Brunswick

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hoggard). Everything went their way against the West Brunswick Trojans on Tuesday as the Hoggard Vikings made off with an 11-4 win. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Hoggard let Ryan Bowden and Jonah Harker run wild. Bowden went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles, while Harker scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave Harker a new career-high.

Hoggard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hoggard's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for West Brunswick, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoggard will challenge Swansboro at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hoggard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season. As for West Brunswick, they will take on North Brunswick at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
