Basketball Recap: Spring Takes a Loss

Spring played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the College Park Cavaliers 63-34. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

College Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooke Smith led the charge by shooting 64% from the field en route to 20 points and eight boards. The game was Smith's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Valentina Campos, who posted 12 points in addition to six assists and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Spring and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for College Park, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Spring will host Porter at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for College Park, they are taking a road trip to challenge Klein Collins at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
