Softball Recap: Toppenish Takes a Loss

Toppenish was the 17-4 winner over Granger when they last played one another on Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Toppenish Wildcats took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Granger Spartans on Thursday. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Toppenish and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Granger, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Toppenish will head out to challenge Ellensburg at 3:00 p.m. on March 28th. Ellensburg has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something Toppenish will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Granger, they will take on Columbia at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
