Greenwood dropped their record down to 17-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the South Warren Spartans by a score of 2-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Gators were not able to get on the board.

As for South Warren, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.

For South Warren's part, the result came thanks to Mikey Coradini's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. Coradini has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Griffin Rardin, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

While Greenwood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
