Softball Recap: Cinco Ranch Takes a Loss

Cinco Ranch fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Mayde Creek on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 12-11. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sydni Vandeventer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Ramirez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Cinco Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Mayde Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Cinco Ranch will be playing in front of their home fans against Morton Ranch at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Mavericks at the right time seeing as the Mavericks are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Mayde Creek, they are taking a road trip to take on Seven Lakes at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
