Basketball Recap: Bonanza Takes a Loss

Bonanza easily dispatched Gold Beach last Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Bonanza Antlers fell just short of the Tulelake Honkers by a score of 36-34 on Tuesday. The Antlers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Honkers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Tulelake's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenzie Perez, who posted 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals Perez has posted since back in January. Alejandra Perez was another key player, putting up six points.

Bonanza now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Tulelake, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

The future could be bright for both Bonanza and Tulelake: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Bonanza will try to hand Lakeview their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Tulelake will try to hand Fall River their third-straight loss when the two meet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
