While Rockingham County's win against McMichael wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Phoenix 10-8. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their 16th in a row.

Nate Revis and Hudson Deel made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Revis pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Deel pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Revis has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Revis scored two runs while going 2-for-5, while Deel went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Deel has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Ethan Bognar was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Brady Ross was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

Rockingham County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Rockingham County's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for McMichael, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.

Rockingham County will look to defend their home field on Monday against Combine Academy Global at 5:00 p.m. As for McMichael, they will be taking part in a tournament against White Oak at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
