Baseball Recap: Forbes Road Takes a Loss

Forbes Road extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-9 in the process. They lost 15-5 to Fannett Metal. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Fannett Metal this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.

Forbes Road saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Fannett Metal, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3. Considering they have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Fannett Metal's side, they let Landon Arnold and Jake Coffman run wild. Arnold went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Coffman went 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Arnold a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tucker Seibert, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forbes Road will venture away from home to face off against Tussey Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Forbes Road's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Fannett Metal, they will head out to square off against Everett at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
