Soccer Game Preview: Port Arthur Memorial vs. Nederland

The Port Arthur Memorial Titans will challenge the Nederland Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Port Arthur Memorial will bounce into Friday's match after beating Port Neches-Groves, who they had gone 0-7-2 against in their nine prior meetings. Port Arthur Memorial never let Port Neches-Groves onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Titans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Indians are ranked 147th).

Meanwhile, Nederland has been on a difficult stretch since their win on January 7. They and Sterling finished up their game with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday. That draw made it four straight for the Bulldogs.

With that draw, Nederland's record moves to 2-6-4. As for Port Arthur Memorial, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2-2.
