Volleyball Recap: Lily Galbreath Key Part of Team Effort in Braves Win

Shawnee won the last time they faced Northeastern and things went their way on Sunday too. The Braves walked away with a 3-1 win over the Jets.

Shawnee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lily Galbreath led the charge by getting 16 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Galbreath a new career-high in assists (nine). Another player making a difference was Elle Wissel, who had 11 digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Shawnee was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Shawnee's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Northeastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Shawnee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Jonathan Alder on the 23rd. As for Northeastern, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Greeneview on the 23rd.
