Baseball Recap: Altoona Falls Short of Mifflin County in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Altoona can now relate to. They fell just short of the Mifflin County Huskies by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Mountain Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Joseph Speece made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for Altoona and nudges their season record down to 11-10. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Mifflin County, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

As of now, neither Altoona nor the Huskies have any future games scheduled.
