Baseball Recap: Augusta Comes Up Short

Augusta had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-4 to make it four. They lost 15-1 to the Eleva-Strum Cardinals. That's two games in a row now that the Beavers have lost by exactly 14 runs.

Augusta saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Schroeder, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Schroeder has hit this season.

As for Eleva-Strum, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season so far.

On Eleva-Strum's side, the team relied heavily on Calvin Barneson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Noah Martinson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one RBI.

Coming up, Augusta will welcome Stanley-Boyd at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Orioles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.33 runs per game on average), something the Beavers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Eleva-Strum, they will face off against Arcadia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
