Softball Game Preview: Holly Hill Academy Raiders vs. King Academy Knights

For the second straight game, Holly Hill Academy will face off against King Academy. The Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Holly Hill Academy will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Holly Hill Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past King Academy 6-4.

Taylor Wright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Abby Burleson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kloie Mizell, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Holly Hill Academy pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for King Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.
