Basketball Recap: Hiawatha Comes Up Short

Hiawatha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 79-55 to the Indian Creek Timberwolves. The Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-25.

Everett Willis was a one-man wrecking crew for Indian Creek as he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds Willis has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tyler Bogle, who posted eight points along with eight assists and eight boards.

Hiawatha's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Indian Creek, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-8.

Hiawatha didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-44 loss against Leland on the 1st. As for Indian Creek, they will square off against Earlville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Indian Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season.
