Recap: Perry Yellowjackets vs. Caledonia-Mumford Raiders
This season hasn't been kind to the Perry Yellowjackets, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Caledonia-Mumford an easy 44-24 win. Perry was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Caledonia-Mumford apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Caledonia-Mumford was led to victory by Nathan Doll and Donny Peet. Doll dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Peet scored 16 points along with three steals. The match was Doll's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Perry bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Caledonia-Mumford, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry will finish 2023 at home by hosting Arkport Central at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Caledonia-Mumford, they will play host again and welcome Gananda Central, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gananda Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Caledonia-Mumford likes a good challenge.
