Recap: United South Panthers vs. Alexander Bulldogs
After soaring to 32 points the game before, The United South Panthers were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 21-7 bruising from Alexander. United South lost against Alexander in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 20-13 score last time.
David Gonzalez rushed for 14 yards and a touchdown. Jonathan Tello was his top target, picking up 74 receiving yards. On the ground, Arturo Gonzalez rushed for 35 yards.
It was another big night for Gael Rodriguez, who rushed for 237 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per carry. Rodriguez really tore up the turf during one magnificent 88-yard run.
United South has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Alexander, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
United South will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Eagle Pass at 7:00 p.m. Eagle Pass is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Alexander, they will head out on the road to face off against Del Rio at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
