Basketball Recap: Covenant C Crusaders vs. Oak City Prep Bears

Covenant C was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Oak City Prep Bears, falling 65-43. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-21 back in January.

Oak City Prep found their leader in sophomore Amazin Dixon, who went 14 of 21 en route to 31 points along with six assists and six boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dixon has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Luke Rullo, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points.

Covenant C's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Oak City Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.

Covenant C does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oak City Prep, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Thomas Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak City Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Thomas Academy likes a good challenge.
