Basketball Recap: Spalding Triumphs

Spalding was handed a 50-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Whitewater Wildcats 60-58. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-53 back in January.

Whitewater lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Allan Mangual, who posted five points along with 18 boards and four blocks. Mangual is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season. Case Roberts was another key player, going 7 for 17 on his way to 17 points and seven assists.

Spalding's record now sits at 9-12. As for Whitewater, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing LaGrange the next time they take the court. Spalding will head out to face LaGrange at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Whitewater will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
