Basketball Recap: Airport Takes a Loss

Airport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the River Bluff Gators, falling 62-40. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 71-41 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Mason Young was nothing short of spectacular for River Bluff: he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Young has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Yasir Cromer, who posted 11 points and eight assists.

Airport's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for River Bluff, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Airport didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-52 defeat against South Aiken on the 17th. As for River Bluff, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-38 loss against Lugoff-Elgin on the 17th.
