Softball Recap: Barron Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hayward, Barron was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Osceola Chieftains by a score of 4-1. The Golden Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chieftains, too.

Kailynn Duncan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 16 Ks. Those 16 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Ariella McDonald and Myah Miller did most of the damage at the plate: McDonald went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base, while Miller went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Micahlee Skjerly was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Barron's victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-3-1. As for Osceola, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Barron will challenge St. Croix Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Osceola, they will square off against Amery at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
