Basketball Game Preview: Evergreen Cougars vs. Highlands Ranch Falcons

The Evergreen Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Highlands Ranch Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evergreen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Highlands Ranch likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Evergreen faced off against Summit on Tuesday. Evergreen took their game with ease, bagging a 72-45 win over Summit. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Highlands Ranch played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by George Washington 79-46. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-19.

Despite the defeat, Highlands Ranch saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mason Lane went 6 for 14 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Benner, who posted five points.

Evergreen's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Highlands Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
