Basketball Recap: Groveton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Leggett on Tuesday, Groveton came back down to earth. The Indians were dealt a 70-19 loss at the hands of the Warren Warriors on Thursday. The Indians lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 41-29 score last time.

Everett Snyder was Groveton's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Colton Cox held things down on the boards with four rebounds.

Groveton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Warren, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Groveton and Warren will both be playing Hull-Daisetta the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Bobcats at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, while the Indians will play them later in the day, at 4:30 p.m.
