Volleyball Recap: Michaela Kizer Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Franklin

Southampton won the last time they faced Franklin and things went their way on Thursday too. The Indians were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Broncos. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

While Southampton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-16, 25-23.

Southampton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michaela Kizer, who had 11 digs. Those 11 digs gave Kizer a new career-high.

Southampton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 14 aces in five consecutive contests.

The victory got Southampton back to even at 4-4. As for Franklin, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
