Baseball Recap: Mountain View Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mountain View, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Kelso Hilanders 8-7. This was a revenge game for the Thunder: when they faced off against the Hilanders on Monday, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Brendon Lawson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Lawson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.

In other batting news, Brody Fellows was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Logan Josephsen, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Mountain View's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Kelso, with the defeat, they broke their 12-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-3.

Mountain View will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hilanders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
