Softball Recap: Caston Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Caston, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let the Triton Trojans get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Thursday. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Caston got a massive performance out of Natalie Warner, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Warner has posted since back in April. Ava Russell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Caston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Caston's record is now 5-13. As for Triton, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with the defeat, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Caston and Triton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Comets (ranked 312th) will meet Oak Hill (ranked 112th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Triton will challenge Winamac at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (351 vs. 86).
