            Softball Recap: Oxford Hornets vs. Kennett Blue Demons        
        
		
        
        
            Oxford can  bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game  on Monday. They walked away with  a   12-9  victory over the Kennett Blue Demons. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Blue Demons  back in March, they had to take a  13-12  defeat.

 Oxford got a big performance out of  Alexa Keenan, who  got on base  in three of her five plate appearances with three  RBI and one  run. Those  three  RBI gave  Keenan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Liliana Van Zyl, who  got on base  in three of her five plate appearances with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
Oxford's  win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 2-11. As for Kennett, their loss was  their fourth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 4-7.
 Oxford and Kennett could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage  in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Hornets (ranked 450th) will meet Coatesville (ranked 67th)  at 3:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile,  Kennett will  take on  Downingtown West  at 3:45  p.m.  on Tuesday with a big rank  disadvantage  (378 vs. 129).
