Baseball Game Preview: Mattituck Tuckers vs. Center Moriches Red Devils

For the second straight game, Mattituck will face off against Center Moriches. The Tuckers will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. Mattituck has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with six straight defeats, while Center Moriches will come in with six straight wins.

Mattituck is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Center Moriches on Tuesday, falling 13-2. That's two games in a row now that the Tuckers have lost by exactly 11 runs.

For Center Moriches' part, Joe Hiller was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Center Moriches pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Mattituck, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
