With a playoff game on the line, Hanover Central rose to the challenge on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Kankakee Valley Kougars. This was a revenge match for the Wildcats, as the team was forced to settle for a 3-0 loss when these two played two weeks ago.
Hanover Central took Kankakee Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 23-25, 20-25, 17-15.
Hanover Central was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.
The victory (which was Hanover Central's third in a row) raised their record to 14-18. As for Kankakee Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-12.
Hanover Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 loss against Illiana Christian on the 19th. Kankakee Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
