Basketball Recap: Lawrence Upper Falls Despite Big Games from Nohla Marbley and Kayla Ponyard

Lawrence Upper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 53-34 to the Heritage Classical Academy Griffins.

Lawrence Upper's loss came despite strong showings from Kayla Ponyard and Nohla Marbley. Ponyard posted 20 points, while Marbley earned 14 points. That was a full 58.8% of Lawrence Upper's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Lawrence Upper's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Heritage Classical Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Lawrence Upper will head out to take on Non Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Heritage Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
