Football Recap: Griffin Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After soaring to 31 points the game before, Griffin was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a blow against the Sumter County Panthers, falling 42-13. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 31-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Griffin dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Sumter County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Griffin will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Spencer at 7:30 p.m. on September 5. As for Sumter County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pike County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
