Recap: Paloma Valley Wildcats vs. Vista del Lago Ravens
The Paloma Valley Wildcats posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They had just enough and edged Vista del Lago out 65-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Vista del Lago's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Freddy Alarcon, who scored 23 points, and Julian Rivera who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Rivera continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Johnny Cowart was another key contributor, scoring six points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Paloma Valley and bumps their season record up to 9-10. As for Vista del Lago, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
Paloma Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Heritage is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Vista del Lago, they will head out on the road to face off against Canyon Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
