Basketball Recap: Waverly Central Comes Up Short

Waverly Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 62-25 loss at the hands of the Dickson County Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Cougars are ranked 179th).

It was another big night for Keely Webb, who went 9 of 15 on her way to 22 points and three steals for Dickson County. Webb has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Kailey Beene was another key player, going 6 for 7 en route to 14 points.

Waverly Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Dickson County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.

Waverly Central will head out on the road to take on Houston County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dickson County, they will head out to challenge McEwen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. McEwen will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Dickson County surely won't give up without a fight.
